Investing in quality for the comfort of your best mate.

Why our raised kennels?

Your working dogs are valued members of your team and deserve a safe, secure, and comfortable kennel to come home to when it’s time to knock off.

  • Secure individual dens - reduce unwanted visits.
  • Slotted deck and further raised solid floor sleeping area - reduce moisture, increase cleanliness and comfort.
  • Working height for handler - ease of attending to animal health, feeding, watering & cleaning.

Whether it be herding livestock, security operations, agility training, scent trailing a sambar, retrieving out on the pond, or even just chasing a ball with the kids we know how hard your dog’s work for you so we work harder for them.

We’ve designed and built the best possible kennel range to ensure your working dogs come home to a place of rest so they can recuperate and get ready to do what they love all over again for years to come.

When we aren’t in the truck or at a trial it’s great to know we our dogs are still happy. The raised pen and bed box keeps them off the ground at night, comfortable and safe. Our custom built fixed kennel from Stock Dog Kennels is perfect."

- Michael Smith, VIC

“There’s a great security that comes with knowing your best mate is sleeping soundly with a roof over his head. The construction of our flatpack kennel was simple and I was impressed by the quality of the steel panels.”

- Dan Jackson, VIC

As part of our family, integral to our workforce it’s important our team of dogs are looked after. They love coming home to their kennels to rest and we love knowing they are secure at night. I also love they’re really easy to keep clean, a good size and well insulated with the bed boxes inside.”

- Jackie McGrath, VIC

Stock Dog Kennels story

Moving to the Victorian High Country in 2020 to manage the historic Hinnomunjie station, Stew brought his dogs Joey, Harry, Eddie and Rosie with him. In Omeo he met Sharna, a local lass who had three bloodhounds of her own. Stew purchased Carrascott Tip, a going working dog from the Wagga Dog Auction in 2020 and at that point the pack may have seemed big enough! As all farmers know though, you always need just one more dog and it wasn’t long before the family business planning got underway and soon the farm was home to kids, dogs, chickens, cats, sheep, cows and puppies... so many puppies!

With working dogs to train, a farm to manage and their children Lucas and Grace growing up quickly, it was important that the ever expanding four legged farm workforce had somewhere comfortable and safe to come home to at night.

There was only so much room on the couch so Stew started spending time in the shed (often with the kids in tow) building raised dog kennels. With each kennel built a little tweak in design or improvement in the process meant that soon a necessary hobby was becoming a professional manufacturing operation and reputation of the quality spread. Stew’s mates started calling and ordering their own custom designs and in doing so the foundations for Stock Dog Kennels were laid. Jump to today, we are manufacturing in Mansfield and Omeo and with our flat pack range now able to expand to suit as many kelpies, collies, beagles or bloodhounds as our hearts desire it doesn’t look like our growth will be slowing down.
